FISH CHAAT
For Marinade
Yogurt 2 to 3 tbsp
Garlic & Ginger Paste 2 tbsp
Turmeric Powder 1 tbsp
Mustard Powder 1 tbsp
Ajwain (optional) A pinch
White Cumin/Zeera Powder 1 tbsp heaped
Coriander Powder 1 tbsp heaped
Garam Masala Powder 1 tbsp
Red Chili Powder 1-2tbsp
Lemon Juice 4 tbsp
Salt 1 tbsp
Green Cardamom/Elaichi Powder 1 tbsp
Fish Garnish
Cumin/Zeera seeds Roasted 1 tbsp
Chat Masala as required
Onion chopped 1 large
Tomato Chopped 1 large
Fresh Coriander 2-3 tb sp chopped
Yogurt 1 cup
Green Chutney 2-3 tbsp
Preparation:
Marinate with the marinade ingredients. Leave it for over night or a few hours.
Fry Fish in the frying pan till it is done. Soon after you take fish off the pan, sprinkle chat masala over it while it is still hot. Roughly make pieces of the fried fish. They do not have to be of the same size. Spread on a shallow serving dish and sprinkle all the garnishing ingredients, leaving cucumber slices for the sides.
Serving Tips:
Fish can be fried a few hours ahead of time. Heat it up in the slow oven at the time of serving. Cover the fillets with the garnishing ingredients.
